adding another PI for a R01 resubmission

The PI will be resubmitting his R01. Is it allowed to add another investigator with the role as multiple PI to this resubmission?

A PD/PI can be added to or removed from the resubmission application as long as this does not change the scope or aims of the original application.  It is best to explain these changes in the introduction of your application. A change of PD/PI also needs to be noted via a checkbox in the application.
